What We Are Looking For

  • Repeat photography sets related to land management and environmental research. If you have images that you would like to contribute to the project please contact us. We are looking for images that illustrate subjects such as:
    • Settlement, farming, logging, ranching, forest management, etc.
    • Natural ecological change; wilderness management
    • Fires (both wildfire and prescribed fire)
    • Harvesting, planting, regeneration, and road construction
    • Thinning, site preparation, weed control, fertilization
    • Hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, lightning, windthrow
    • Insect and disease infestations
    • Invasive species
    • Erosion and environmental pollution
  • Repeat photography collections from all ownerships:
    • Private forest landowners and tree farms
    • Forest industry
    • State forests and wildlife areas
    • U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, BLM, and Fish & Wildlife Service lands
    • Military Installations
    • National historic sites, landmarks, and battlefields
    • Wilderness Areas and National Recreation Areas
    • Scenic Byways and Scenic Rivers
    • Conservation Easement Lands
    • Certified Forests
    • Conversion areas and former forest lands
  • Information on existing collections and archives of repeat photography. We want to know who our potential collaborators are. If you would like us to link to your site or have ideas on how to coordinate with our collections please contact us.
  • Information about how our audience will use this resource. What are you looking for in an image database dedicated to repeat photography? How would you use repeat photography in your research?
  • Information on the repeat sets that we publish. Do you know something about the photos in a set that is not listed here? Contact us with information about the location, origin, purpose, etc. of any of our photo sets.
